Christine Hefferman

Christine Heffernan is responsible for building Tesco’s reputation and embedding sustainability at the heart of the business. She leads Tesco’s communications, public affairs, government relations, internal communications, and community agenda, as well as the Group’s quality, technical, and sustainability strategy. A long-standing advocate for tackling food waste, Christine has championed the issue for over a decade. She joined Tesco Ireland in 2014 as Corporate Affairs Director, having previously worked across the financial, energy, and telecoms sectors. Christine became a member of Tesco Group’s Executive Committee in March 2019. She chairs Tesco’s Planet Committee, which reports to the Executive, and also serves on the Board of Tesco Mobile.
